Cultural Diversity History

Seeing how different people react or act to the same thing in a very different ways, is somehow weird and new experience at the same time. This just make me realize that long time evolution, and environment just play a major effect on shaping people personality. For example as a foreign people in japan, knowing their working culture, is so hard for me to accept. It's because they take the concept of hardwork and respect a bit too far. I see life as a balance, and in japan life is about having a great job and respect the others. After seeing the video, few things that shocked me. First the workers didn't even take a shower or breakfast before going to work, and still manage to do a full time job with a lot of activities. Also they see age as a main factor of work hierarchy. Youngest people tends to do all the side job FOR THEM. In my culture, this kind of things considered as a sign of disrespect. Indonesia i would say have a pretty good working life balance eventhough we didn't get payed a lot. Seniority was seen by the skills that we have instead of our age, and the boss absolutely didn't even tell the newbie to make them a coffee.
