Shopping Culture Around The World and Masculinity vs Femininity
Today we talk about the comparison between shopping culture in Japan and our countries. There is not much to say here because its almost the same. The only significant difference i see is that in Indonesia there is nothing like self checkout cashier (if that what you call it). I think its because of the trust issues we have to the society, actually i would say Indonesia is as a safe country like not too much gun and crazy case happening around, but there is still a lot of stealing happening around.
Another thing is about the topic of Masculinity and Femininity. According to Hofstede it is one of the key dimension of how a society approaches gender role and values. In the modern era that we live in right now, i believe most of the people believe in whats so called gender equality. The way in interpret it is how different genders have the same responsibilities, should be treated the same, and should act the same. I kinda disagree with this concept, because god (or whatever entity you want to call it) created male and female with different amount of hormones, testosterone, and speciality. Thus i don't think they should be treated the same. My opinion about this is very strong, masculinity have to be applied to men and femininity have to be applied to women. We have to be in a society where men are expected to be strong, independence, and having a leadership, and women are expected to be sensitive in terms of emotion, nurturing, and empathy.
DON'T THINK THEY SHOULD BE TREATED THE SAME? we are all humans bro there is too much of a difference in individual people to treating a whole gender the same way you feel me. some women and more masculine some men are more feminine. tailor the way you treat peopl to their personality, not their gender
ReplyDeleteHey Ali, thank you for sharing your opinion that was very interesting.
ReplyDeleteHola amigo Ali, I would give you the benefit of the doubt and I will think Yuji misunderstood your opinion, I agree with you that men and women are built different, of course we all should be treated with respect because we are all humans but I also agree that men should provide and be strong for their family (it’s in our nature) and women also are strong but they should be the emotional and supportive side for families, I was raised to believe that.
ReplyDeleteThe problem is that when I say this people believe that I don’t support women independence which is not true, I support equity but personally I like the traditional roles.
